The reviewed historical sources explicitly identifies the imported longer wording as a later publication error and restores the historic original. The imported wording and current historic citation are preserved separately; no silent overwrite was performed.
The inherited URL no longer resolved. Official Society search located Charles D. Marquette. The reviewed historical sources states that the inherited longer citation entered the 1978 Defense Department Medal of Honor Roll in error and restores the historic original “Capture of flag.” The imported 1978 wording, the current historic wording, and the Society correction note are all preserved; no silent citation overwrite is performed.
